Former Notre Dame players Kerry Neal and Evan Sharpley will be hosting a one day clinic for area players Saturday, May 21st at the Lakewood High School practice football field.

Open to athletes in grades 5th-11th.

1-4pm

Cost is $30.00 per player.  Make checks payable to Lakewood Football.

Lakewood Youth Football Sign-ups Scheduled for Thursday, March 24th 2016

Lakewood Youth Football Sign-ups

Thursday, March 24^th in the High School Atrium

5:30-8:00pm

Lakewood Youth Football is open to all students entering grades 3-8.

+15 players need to sign up for 3^rd grade in order to have a complete team.

Cost is $100 per player.

(Payments will be accepted up until the first day of practice)

All equipment including:  shoulder pads, helmet, mouth guard, pads for pants, one pair of practice pants, one pair of game pants, and both a home and away jersey will be provided by the program.  The only piece of equipment not provided is cleats, though we do have a nice selection of used cleats that will be available first come, first served.

Each player is required to turn in a sports physical before they may participate.

Changing Of The Guard

We are pleased to announce this year's updates to the board.
Rick Stank will be taking over as President.
Vic Stank will be taking the position of Vice President.

Leadership Update

At this time, the position of Secretary has been filled for the upcoming season. We are still in need of interested parties for President, Concessions Director and Treasurer. If nobody takes the position of President, the board will be promoting from within and the current Vice President will take over as President leaving a vacancy at VP.

Announcement

After much thought and consideration, my wife Jessica and I have decided that it is time for us to pass the youth football torch. Our time with Lakewood Youth Football has been wonderfully rewarding in many ways and we have enjoyed watching several teams of players grow and succeed. It has been a pleasure working with our coaches and fellow board members these past four years.

At this time, we are announcing our retirement from Lakewood Youth Football, which will be effective at the end of the 2015 season. We want to thank all of our fellow board members as well as all of the volunteers and coaches who make the program a possibility.

We are currently seeking interested persons to take over the duties of board President and Secretary. We plan to stay on as support staff through the 2016 football season to assist and train the new leadership in the necessary areas. At the conclusion of the 2016 season, we will fully detach ourselves from the program.

If you are interested in taking over either of these roles or if you have questions about what these jobs entail, please feel free to contact us. We would be happy to discuss it with you. Our goal is to induct the new board members at our year-end board meeting which will take place sometime in December.

Again, we want to thank everyone who has helped or supported the program in any way during our time with LYF and we ask you to carefully consider this rewarding opportunity.
